Tao Xie is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at North Carolina State University. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Washington in 2005, advised by David Notkin. His research interests are in software engineering, with an emphasis on automated software testing and verification, mining software engineering data, software security testing and analysis, testing and analysis of aspect-oriented programs, testing and analysis of web services and applications, software evolution, and program comprehension. He serves on program committees of Ia number of other international conferences and workshops. He co-organizes 2007 Dagstuhl Seminar on Mining Programs and Processes. Besides doing research, he has contributed to understanding the software engineering research community.
