QT24: Enhancing the Internet Consumer Experience through Automated Testing&Analysis-Dr.Priyadarshy PDF Print E-mail
Internet users are quite savvy and their visits are always attracted by the fastest and latest web properties. The migration of Internet users impacts the bottom line of companies that rely heavily on online advertising revenues. Even as the technology changes, the basic concept on how to retain or attract consumers does not change. Consumers will differentiate web properties based on the experience they have while viewing it .One of the key differentiation factors is the consumer’s experience relating to the rendering of various internet properties. This could be as simple as rendering of a web page or the speed of audio/video playback.

An automated, reliable, efficient automation measurement of consumer experience in ‘near’ real-time can help companies in retaining and attracting consumers to their sites. Such an automated test system has to be reliable, efficient, robust and agile at the same time. We will discuss what the benefits and impact of such a system is, built using ‘open-source’ tools. Various companies are involved in collecting ‘various metrics’, although true last mile consumer experience metrics is elusive. We will discuss the challenges and solutions to obtaining the last mile consumer experience metrics.
